Activity Scheme for the Phase II of Silicon Valley Innovation Accelerated Camp in 2020



Recently, Chinese enterprises successively resume work. It is important for them to find a systematic innovative thinking management mode to promote their development, and make targeted strategic deployment amid the COVID-19 outbreak. To help enterprises further implement their innovation-driven strategy, enable their innovation-driven high-quality development, promote their industrial transformation and upgrading, Qingdao Oceantec Valley Administration Bureau and Qingdao Innovation Institute (QDII) along with Haier Hai Chuanghui (HCH) jointly roll out the Phase II of Silicon Valley Innovation Accelerated Camp in 2020, which welcomes outstanding enterprises and entrepreneurial projects all over the country to join it for accelerated growth together.

As a comprehensive consulting and research institution jointly built by SRI International ,Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and Qingdao Oceantec Valley, Qingdao Innovation Institute integrates global top innovation resources, connects with Haier industrial ecosystem by virtue of Haier HCH, and unites a great many well-known investment institutions across China to provide strong investment and financing support, so as to comprehensively help outstanding enterprises and entrepreneurial projects to achieve success.

Under the theme of "innovation-driven and technology-led development" and based on the "innovation management methods of SRI International", the Phase II of Silicon Valley Innovation Accelerated Camp has a world-class team of mentors composed of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and executives led by Claude Leglise, president of Qingdao Innovation Institute (QDII). It will provide enterprises with four stages of high-end professional training centered on "innovation acceleration", to promote the cultivation of talents and a favorable environment for technology transfer and transformation, so as to make more contribution to China's high quality economic growth and innovation-oriented development.

II. Target Participants

High-quality enterprises and start-up projects (hereinafter referred to as the "Project") having demands for technology upgrading, model innovation or capital market and are willing to synergistically develop with Qingdao Oceantec Valley in areas including marine technical equipment, marine biological medicine, marine information industry and electronic information, aerospace, new energy, new materials, advanced manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, high-tech service and other industries.

Ultimate stage:

Silicon Valley training camp

It is expected to be in July, 2020. The specific time will be determined according to the situation of the epidemic.

Through the first three stages of domestic training and the sorting of business models, there will be the opportunity to go to the headquarters of SRI International in Silicon Valley of the United States to attend the phase IV study. It is scheduled to launch in the United States in July 2020. Overseas activities include a series of lectures and business talks; meeting with American investment institutions, senior entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and entrepreneurs in science and technology innovation; visit to famous enterprises, universities and research institutes in Silicon Valley and opportunities to connect with domestic and foreign market resources.

President of Qingdao Innovation Institute (QDII), former CEO of the Innovation Leadership Center of SRI International and former Vice President of Intel Venture Capital, responsible for more than 150 equity investments in 25 countries and serving as a director of several public companies. He once taught innovation management in Stanford Graduate School of Business, University of Tokyo, Malaysia University of Science and Technology, ÉcolePolytechnique[c1]  and many other universities and enterprises.

General Manager and CEO of Qingdao Innovation Institute (QDII), former Global Operation Director of Nextwave, former researcher of HP Labs, former Chief Engineer of Oracle, former Chief Consultant of Vitria, and former Senior Manager of Augmentum. He was the first student of Huazhong University of Science and Technology supported by the government to study in France, and obtained a doctor's degree from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (ENST)[c2] .

(III) Fees

The training fee of the domestic camp is exempted, and the selected project will only bear the expenses related to transportation, accommodation and catering. The fee for the overseas camp will be customized according to the requirements of the Project.
