On May 24, the 5th Session of Innovative Community Activity was held at Qingdao Oceantec Valley by QDII in cooperation with Ocean University of China (OUC). Quite a few innovative and start-up business projects from OUC participated in the activity. Taking Poseidon’s Eye Smart Underwater Robot Project initiated by postgraduates of OUC as the specific case, the activity provided an opportunity for the participants and the students’ team to discuss about the way to industrialize sci-tech results of universities and colleges.

Jiang Kezhou, a core member of the project's team, conducted a roadshow, and the guests presented suggestions for improvement from all walks of life by participating in the value creation game designed by QDII. Jiang Kezhou graduated from OUC with a master's degree. He assists Zan Rui in market development. He has excellent communication skills, copywriting skills and rich management experience. When he was in OUC, Jiang was awarded 17 items of prizes at national, provincial, municipal and school levels.

Sun Jinghao, a core team member, is pursuing a Ph.D. at OUC. He is currently responsible for the development of software algorithms and the R&D and design of AI algorithms. Sun participates in the R&D of various target detection. He is an engineer on unmanned driving image processing and the head of the binocular ranging project. His R&D results include underwater sea cucumber identification, underwater image enhancement and defogging algorithms, etc.

Most entrepreneurs would say that they know that entrepreneurship would be difficult, but they didn’t realize that it is so difficult. And one of QDII’s tasks is just to help the entrepreneurs reduce the difficulties in starting up a business, attract investments, and achieve fast commercialization.
